Leesburg to Observe “World Ovarian Cancer” Day on Friday,
May 8, 2020
Leesburg, VA (May 5, 2020) – The Leesburg Town
Council approved an official proclamation at its last
meeting in recognition of “World Ovarian Cancer
Day” on Friday, May 8, 2020.
In a tradition started last year, teal flood lights will
illuminate the Loudoun Street wall of the Town Hall
parking garage beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday
evening, which will continue throughout the night.
Due to the need for social distancing requirements
during the current COVI-19 pandemic, no ceremony
will be held this year.
Each year, on May 8th, women living with ovarian
cancer, along with their families, supporters, and organizations from around the world, come
together to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. The first “World Ovarian Cancer Day” took
