Town Hall Exhibit to Feature Watercolors of Self-Taught Artist
The exhibit will be on display through May 31, 2020.
Leesburg, VA (March 2, 2020) – The Leesburg
Commission on Public Art (COPA) is pleased to
announce a new art display that will be available for
viewing at Leesburg Town Hall (25 West Market
Street) beginning Monday, March 2, 2020.
Watercolors by Megha Mehra features 28 pieces of
art that include landscapes, portraits, scenes, and
still life.
Mehra is an award-winning, self-taught, artist born
and raised in Bangalore, India. She has been producing artwork for about ten years.
“Watercolors found me when I was about to become a mom,” Mehra said. “I painted with the
belief that my baby would connect with that creative energy. Little did I know that I would
rediscover my own childlike enthusiasm for painting.”
Mehra said she loves light, which is the essence of her paintings. It brings out the simpler story
within each scene, she said.
The exhibit will run through May 31, 2020. The public is encouraged to stop by and see the art
during normal business hours at Leesburg Town Hall.
The first floor lobby and hallway of the Leesburg Town Hall features rotating exhibits by
Leesburg and Loudoun artists. Those interested in having their work considered for a future
exhibit should contact Leah Kosin, staff liaison to the Commission on Public Art, at
lkosin@leesburgva.gov.
