RESOLUTION NO. 82-23 ADOPTED February 24~ 1982
A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING THE VIRGINIA FAIR HOUSING LAW
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg in Virginia supports the right of all citi-
zens to fair housing regardless of race, color, religion, national origin or
sex; and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia has adopted a Fair Housing Law which
provides for fair housing throughout the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Fair Housing Law prohibits discriminatory housing
practices, real estate practices and lending practices;
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
SECTION I. The Town of Leesburg endorses the right of all citizens to
equal housing opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, national origin
or sex.
SECTION II. The Town of Leesburg in Virginia endorses Chapter 5, Title
36, of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Virginia Fair Housing Law,
and fully supports its enforcement within the town.
