Leesburg Residents Encouraged to Flush Three “P’s” Only
Leesburg, VA (March 16, 2020) – With the increased hand washing and cleaning of contact
surfaces, the Town of Leesburg’s Utility Department would like to remind everyone to not flush
wipes, tissues, or paper towels down the drain.
While companies advertise some of these items are “flushable”, they can still clog toilets and
back up sewer lines, which will overflow into your home.
Please protect your pipes and follow the guidelines by flushing only the 3 P’s - pee, poop and
precious (toilet) paper. For any sewer issues, please call the Utility Department, during normal
business hours, at 703-771-2750 or 703-737-7075. You may also call the Leesburg Police
Department’s non-emergency line, after hours, at 703-771-4500.
