Morven Park Road Sidewalk Geotechnical Study Begins
Monday, March 30
Contractor will conduct drilling tests through next Friday.
Leesburg, VA (March 27, 2020) – As part of the Morven Park Road sidewalk capital
improvement project, the Town’s contractor will be conducting geotechnical drilling on Morven
Park Road NW between West Market Street and Old Waterford Road NW.
The contractor is expected to drill at four test sites. Work will be done between 9 a.m. and 4
p.m. on weekdays, beginning on Monday, March 30, 2020. Testing should be concluded by
Friday, April 3, 2020. The driller will have temporary traffic control in place as work is being
done.
The geotechnical study is in preparation for the construction of several missing segments of
sidewalk along the west side of Morven Park Road NW. Construction is planned to start in
winter 2020/21 and be completd in spring 2022.
