RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION
NUMBERS 95-268 AND 96-281
WHEREAS, by Resolution 95-268, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") retained
thc legal services of Robert A. Hcdcsh ("Hcdesh") in cmmcction with the defense of an action
titled Lacobs v. h~4~,~f_Crj~; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 95-268 was amended by Resolution 96-281; and
WHEREAS, iacobs v. Bor h of Cart r t appears ready to proceed to trial, thereby
causing additional costs to the Borough.
NOW, THEREFORE BE lq[' RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council that the
amount of funds to be expended in connection with the defense of the referenced tnatter is
increased by $5,000,00, with the cumulative total of funds expended pursuant to Resolution 95-
268, 96-281, and this resolution, not to exceed $13,500.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment is made without competitive bids in
accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:I 1-5 (l)(a) due to the speoialized and professional nature of the
service,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this action shall be published in The Home
News and Tribune on September.. 09 ,1997.

principal office at the Borough Hall , 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret,
New Jersey, 07008, hereinafter the "BOROUGH".
As per Resolution No. 97-275.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE TO RETAIN LEGAL SERVICE IN CONNECTION WITH
THE DEFENSE OF AN ACTION TITLED JACOBS VS BOROUGH OF CARTERET~
