Home My Public Portal About2006-140 (08-15-06)RESOLUTION NO. 2006.140 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD PASSING, UPON OBJECTIONS AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF QUALITY OF LIFE SERVICES TO ABATE THE NUISANCE OF DRY AND DYING WEEDS THAT EXIST ON CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND,IN THE CITY OF LYNWOODFOR FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007 .~, WHEREAS, on July 5, 2006 the: City. Council of the City of Lynwood adopted ~ Resolution No. 2006.122 relating to the abatement of dry ahd dying weeds; stubble, I ~ brush, litter or other flammable materials, on certain parcels of land in the City; and WHEREAS, due notice was given to destroy such weeds pursuant to the provisions of Sections 39560 through 39587 of the Government Code;.and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has considered all of the facts and is fully informed in the matter, and has acquired jurisdiction to proceed and perform the work of removal of said nuisances. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby, find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows: ~ -- SECTION 1. That any objection presented to said City Council are hereby overruled, and that the Director of Quality of Life Services is hereby instructed to abate the nuisance described in Attachment "A" by having been expressly authorized to enter upon private property for that purpose. SECTION 2. That any property owner shall have the right to have any such nuisance removed and abated at his own expense, provided that such work is done ~ prior to the time that work is done by the City. No charge shall be made by the City of Lynwood if the City does not perform the work. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall .become effective immediately upon its adoption.
