A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO DAVID EVANS AND ASSOCIATES FOR
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE PREPi4RATION OF THE
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL STUDY FOR THE NEGOTIATED FEE OF $19,100
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, a new Safe Routes to School Study is now necessary
because of the completion of new schools that have altered existing school boundaries:
and
WHEREAS, on June 22, 2006, the City of Lynwood released a Request
for Proposals (RFP) for the preparation of the Safe Routes to School Study; and
WHEREAS, seven (7) engineering firms requested RFP's and two (2)
firms responded to the RFP; and
WHEREAS, David Evans & Associates is a qualified firm and has the
staffing and expertise to prepare the study; and
WHEREAS, Lynwood Unified School District has agreed to pay for half
the cost of the Safe Routes to School Study.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the Lynwood City Council award a contract to David
Evans and Associates in the amount of $19,100 for the preparation of the Safe Routes
to School Study.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement
between the City of Lynwood and David Evans and Associates in a form to be approved
by the City Attorney.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
