RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF EMERGENCY POLICE GENERATOR
WHEREAS, there exists an emergency need for a power generator to be
utilized by the Carteret Police Department; and
WHEREAS, delay in procuring said generator would threaten the health,
safety, and welfare of the Borough of Carteret residents; end
WHEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available
and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6 permits emergency purchase without
competitive bidding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Council of
the Borough of Carteret do hereby declare that an emergency exists necessitating
the purchase of a power generator.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized
to purchase said power generator from S.B.P. Industries, Rahway, N.J. in the
amount of $25,000.00.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A, 40A:11-6, due to the existence of an emergency.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this action shall be published in
the Home News & Tribune on September, 9 , 1997.
Adopted this 4th day of September, 1997
and certified as a true copy of the original
on September 5, 1997.
