‘Tis The Season at Ida Lee
Special holiday events planned at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center
Leesburg, VA (December 7, 2010) – Join the fun at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center for a month
of holiday happenings! We have something for every age group to celebrate this magical
season, including building your very own gingerbread house and sipping cocoa with Santa, Mrs.
Claus and some of their very special friends.
BUILD YOUR OWN GINGERBREAD HOUSE
The tradition of the gingerbread house dates back to the 19th century. All the "bricks" and
"mortar" will be on hand to build with, then decorate your house using candy canes, icing, gum
drops, and much more! Please bring an apron and a baking sheet to take your creation home.
This program is for ages 3 and over and will be held at various times on December 11th and 12th.
COCOA WITH SANTA
Santa will be the guest of honor at this special event
for all ages up to 6 (with parent or guardian). Enjoy
cocoa and cookies, create special crafts, play games
and enjoy holiday tunes before getting your chance to
sit on Santa’s lap. Parents will also have picture
opportunities with Santa during the festivities. Pre-
registration is required for this event. Come sit with
Santa on the evening of Friday, December 17th at 6:00
p.m.
