RESOLUTION NO. 83-28 ADOPTED February 9, 1983
A RESOLUTION: REQUESTING THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION
TO ALTER THE SIDEWALK LOCATION ALONG EAST MARKET STREET
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg is preparing a design plan for the East Market
Street Corridor; and
WHEREAS, the East Market Street improvement project (State Project No.
0007-253-102) is currently under construction; and
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Advisory Committee and ad hoc business
committee have unanimously endorsed the concept of relocating the sidewalk to
provide additional space for landscaping.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation is requested to locate
the sidewalk along East Market Street directly behind the curb and the utility
strip behind the sidewalk.
