Celebrate the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
at Holidays in Leesburg!
Leesburg, VA (December 7, 2010) – The Town of
Leesburg invites locals and visitors to enjoy "the
most wonderful time of the year" and
experience a little holiday magic in historic
downtown Leesburg.
On Saturday, December 11, 2010, the holiday
spirit will be in full swing as Leesburg hosts the
annual holiday parade. The parade will begin at
10:00 a.m. and usher Santa and his friends down
King Street, through the heart of historic
Leesburg. The parade will begin at Ida Lee Drive and end at Fairfax Street. Parade participation
is open to the public, including businesses, civic groups, teams, organizations, and community
groups. In preparation for the parade, King Street will be closed to vehicular traffic at 9:30 a.m.
from Ida Lee Drive to Catoctin Circle.
Following the parade, historic downtown Leesburg will
feature festive entertainment including roaming characters,
roving musicians and a letter-writing station for children to
compose their wish lists to the North Pole. While shopping
downtown Leesburg, be sure to grab a photo with Frosty,
Rudolph and the man of the hour – Santa!
This day of fun, food and shopping will be capped off by one
of the best concerts in the area – the Jingle Jam, Leesburg’s
holiday rock n’ roll concert. This concert will feature many
local and regional artists playing traditional holiday tunes,
with a little edge. We bet you never knew Santa could boogie
like this! Show times will be 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. New this
year is the addition of the “Junior Jam,” a 30-minute kid-
oriented concert that will be held at 11:30 a.m. A portion of the proceeds for the Jingle Jam
concerts will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
