A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING THE LYNWOOD NATURAL
HAZARDS MITIGATION PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) enacted
the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requiring all local governments to adopt a Natural
Hazards Mitigation Plan and submit no later than November 1, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council appointed a Committee to review and
prepare the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Committee met on April 28, 2004 and again on June 9, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Planning Commission and Lynwood Public Safety
Commission approved the Draft Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan with amendments on
September 13, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council did conduct a duly noticed public hearing
on October 19, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council carefully considered all oral and written
testimony offered at the public hearing.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, based upon the
aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves the Lynwood Natural
Hazards Mitigation Plan.
