AWARD OF CONTRACT - SURVEYING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need by the Borough o£ Carteret (the "Borough") for
surveying services in connection with the preparation of bid specifications for the
Harrison, Lexington and Matthews Avenue road project; and
WHEREAS, John Cilo ("Cilo") is a licensed surveyor and has provided satisfactory
services in the past; and
WHEREAS, Cilo has offered the lowest price to perform said surveying services; and
WHEREAS, this contract is being awarded without competitive bidding in that surveying
services are an extraordinary unspecified service exempt from bidding pursuant to
NJS.A. 40a:114 (a) (ii); and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that this meets the
Statute and Regulations governing the Award of said Contracts and that funds are
available for the payment of such contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough Council of the Borough
of Carteret as follows:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract for
surveying services with John Cilo, not to exceed $1,500.00, at ar/hourly rate as per the
attached schedule.
2. That this contract is awarded without competitive bidding in that surveying
services are an extraordinary unspecified service exempt pursuant to N.J. SA. 40A: 11-5
(a) (ii).
3. Notification of the Contract Award shall be printed in the New Tribune on
September 23, 1997.
Adopted this 18th day of September, 1997
and certified as a true copy of the original
on September 19, 1997.
