A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ELECTRICAL
EQUIPMENT FOR WATER WELL NO. 19 THROUGH AN
INFORMAL BIDDING PROCESS

~ WHEREAS, the City Water System is composed of seven water wells and three
' booster pumps; an

WHEREAS, City Water Well No. 19 is the largest water well in production
capacity; and
WHEREAS, Well No. 19 stopped operating because of electrical equiptment
failure (Variable Speed Drive); and
WHEREAS, the purchase of Electrical Equipment for Water well No. 19 is
essential for its operation, which has been estimated to cost $15,000; and
WHEREAS, because of the nature of the emergency, this purchase can be more
expeditiously implemented through an informal bidding process; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Municipal Code Section 6-3.13 allows the City
Council to approve the informal bidding process with a 4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows:

__ Section 1: That staff is authorized to implement this purchase through an
informal bidding process.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
