8:05 P.M.
Members present: Mayor Wayne Neddermeyer;- Councilmen Arthur Theis, William Reiser, Robert
Franklin; Clerk, Donna Roehl; Assessor, Willis Kohnen; Hennepin County
Assessor, Kerm Benson.
Absent, Councilman Donald DesLauriers
1. ELLSWORTH NOOR, Sycamore Trail
Mr. Noor felt that the limited value placed on his house was to high as the lower level
was not finished. Willis Kohnen stated that there had been a 10% raise from DLit year.
2. JOHN NEALE, Tamarack Dr.
Mr. Neale stated that the remodeling work that had been done on his house was not complete
and would need to be redone. Mr. Benson advised that he could file an abatement for the past
years which Mr. Neale stated he would do.
3. CLIFFORD BRANDENBERG, Co. Rd. 116
Mr. Buandenberg stated that his limited value has gone up 51% in 4 years and wanted to know
if everyone had gone up accordingly. Mr. Kohnen stated that perhaps he was assessed low in
1972 and this raise would now bring his value in line with others.
4. JOHN DUARTE, 3102 Hwy. 55
Inquired as to why the limited value had gone up 10% the past year and if living on a highway
affects valuation. Mr. Kohnen explained the 10 % raise and the fact that homes that have been
sold on Highway 55 near Hamel have not been affected by Highwy traffic.
5. GEORGE LEHO, Witchita Trail
Mr, Leho stated that he had the necessary forms from the assessor to be filed for anyone who
is disabled.
6. TED PEARSON, Independence Beach
Mr. Pearson is under Social Security disability and the Board of Review could act on a
3-CC classification for one-half of his property which would speed up action as far as
County and State lowering taxes.
7. AR1'Hutt PEABODY, Tamarack Dr.
Mr. Peabody asked for an explanation of the various terms of valuation as appear on the tax
statement. Mr. Benson explained that actual is market value, limited is taxable value,
deferred is green acres on actual.
Council discussed Wirth Mr. Kohnen and Mr. Benson the various requests and felt that the only
one that needed action was Mr. Fearsons.
Motion by Robert Franklin, seconded by Arthur Theis to give Mr. Pearson a 3-CC classification
on one-half of his property which means payment of 25% on one half of property and 5% on the
other half.
Motion carried unanimously
Motion by Robert Franklin, seconded by William Reiser to adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously
