HomeMy Public PortalAbout2004-194 (11-02-04)RESOLUTION NO. 2004.194 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE YOUTH SOCCER AND RECREATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2002 FOR LYNWOOD MEADOWS PARK „BASKETBALL COURT WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted California Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002 which provides funds to the State of California for grants to eligible applicants; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the Youth Soccer and Recreation Development Program and the grant Project shown above within the State, setting up necessary procedures; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation require the City Council to certify by resolution the approval of the application before submission of said application to the State; and WHEREAS, the City will enter into a Contract with. the State of California for the Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows: Section 1: That the City Council approves the filing for local assistance funds from the Youth Soccer and Recreation Development Program under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002. Section 2: That the City Council certifies the City of Lynwood has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the Project. Section 3: That the City Council certifies that City has reviewed, understands and agrees with the General Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the Procedural Guide. Section 4: That the City Council certifies that the City has or will have available, prior to commencement of any work on the Project, the Match. Section 5: That the City Council certifies that the Project conforms to the recreation element of any applicable city or county general plan. Section 6: That the City Council appoints the City Manager or the City Manager's designee as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to applications, agreements, payment requests and ~, so on, which may be necessary for the completion of Projects.
