A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH CALIFORNIA SECURITY,
INCORPORATED FOR THE PROVISION OF PARK AND PUBLIC FACILITIES
SECURITY SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood finds it essential to provide
the community with safe and unfettered access to all of the City's parks and public
facilities; and
WHEREAS, beginning during the 1997/98 fiscal year the City Council
appropriated the necessary funding to begin implementing these services; and
WHEREAS, these services have been provided both by a private security firm as
well as most recently by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department; and
WHEREAS, during recent budget hearings the City Council directed staff to seek
out bids from private security firms to provide these services as a cost cutting measure;
and
WHEREAS, City_ staff received a total of six (6) proposals for the provision of

WHEREAS, the firm, California Security; Inco~porated'was the lowest bidder; and
WHEREAS, California Security, Incorporated will provide- uniformed, `armed
security guard services; and
WHEREAS, at the regularly scheduled meeting of October 5, 2004 City staff
recommended that the City Council authorize the negotiation of an agreement with the
above named firm; and
WHEREAS, City staff has negotiated an agreement for the service provider to be
compensated at a regular hourly rate of $14.50 per hour/per officer with an overtime
and holiday hourly rate of $21.75 per hour per officer; and
WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be from November 15, 2004 through
to November 15, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant must adhere to all provisions included in the
Agreement. ~~
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
determine, order and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The agreement for Park and Public Facilities Security
Services is approved.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
