PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (DNTRACT
FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services in connection
with the bonding for acquisition of a Fire Truck; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:ll-5(1)(a), professional services
are exempt from the requirements of competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the local Finance Officer has certified that fonds are
available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of McMANIMDN
& SCOTLAND at a maxirm~ cost'of and not to exceed $1,500.00, billable
at $175.00 per hour.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby
authorized to exmcute said contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without compet-
itive bids in accordance with N.J.S.A, 40A:ll-5(1)(a) due to the
specialized and professional nature of the services provided,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a Notice of this action shall be printed
once in The Hc~e News & Tribune on TUESDAY, SEPTMMBER 23, 1997.
