RESOLUTION NO. 2004.204
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION OF NINE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE 2005 YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has one of the most outstanding youth baseball
programs in all of southeastern Los Angeles serving youth between the ages of five (5) and
sixteen (16) years of age; and
WHEREAS, Lynwood Athletics and Community Services organization has again
approached the City of Lynwood offering to conduct a Youth Baseball Clinic; and
WHEREAS, The clinic will have two (2) skilled clinicians including Mr. James Bishop and
Mr. Mario "Tony" Miranda, both of which grew up here in the City of Lynwood and went on to
flourishing careers in Major League Baseball; and
WHEREAS, This program will be offered free-of-charge to Lynwood City Residents only
and those non-residents who wish to attend and participate in this Youth Baseball Clinic will be
assessed a registration fee; and
WHEREAS, This is a program which was not funded as part of the 2003/2005 biennial
fiscal budget; and _
WHEREAS, The projected operating budget for this program is nine-thousand six-
hundred twenty-five dollars ($9,625.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim,
order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any necessary
transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of nine-thousand six-hundred twenty-
five dollars be allocated from the unappropriated general fund balance in the following fashion:

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
