HomeMy Public PortalAbout1983_08_24_R134The Town of Leesburg in Virginia PROPOSED August 24~ 1983 RESOLUTION NO. 83-134 ADOPTED August 24, 1983 A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING CONTRACTS FOR SEWER PIPE AND GRAVEL AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION. WHEREAS, the timely construction of the airport sanitary sewer exten- sion is essential to the town's obligations under its contract with the Federal Aviation Adminstration and the health and safety of employees and visitors using the automated flight service station and adminstration building; and WHEREAS, the construction schedule for this facility did not permit an advertised invitation to bid for the sewer pipe and gravel; and WHEREAS, all other provisions of the town's purchasing policies were followed to permit competitive sealed bidding; and WHEREAS, an emergency exists as defined in Section 8.5 of the town's purchasing policy adopted Februrary 19, 1983: THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: Section I. The manager shall enter into a unit price contract in the amount of $26,166 with ARMCO, Inc. for the purchase of truss pipe. Section II. The manager shall enter into a unit price contract in the amount of $4,360 with Luckstone Corporation for gravel. Section III. Appropriations to remain in effect until the project is complete are made from the unappropriated balance of the airport capital pro- ject fund to the account and in the amount shown below: Airport Sewer Line Construction, Account 8300.702 $32,750 -2- PASSED this 24th day of August , 1983.
