MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF MAY 11, 2011
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on May 11, 2011 at 7:06
p.m. at the Medina City Hall, 2052 County Road 24, Medina, MN.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Pederson, Weir, Crosby, Siitari
Members absent: Martinson
Also present: Finance Director Jeanne Day
II. Interviews with Interim City Administrator Candidates
Thirty minute, full Council interviews were conducted with each of the finalists: Greg
Andrews, Doug Reeder, and Dan Hartman.
Discussion was held on the interviews and the assets each candidate would bring. The
Council agreed to ask Staff to negotiate a contract with Doug Reeder to fill the Interim
City Administrator position.
III. Profile for City Administrator Position Search
Richard Fursman, of Brimeyer-Fursman, LLC, provided a draft copy of the City
Administrator Position Profile to be utilized in the search process.
Suggestions were provided to Fursman. A revised draft will be provided to Council
electronically for final comments to be provided directly to Fursman. Following
discussion, the Council agreed to posting of the position, including the finalized profile to
be completed by May 20, 2011.
IV. League of Minnesota Cities Leadership Award Nomination
Mayor Crosby presented a resolution to Council recognizing Chad M. Adams for his
service to the City of Medina.
Discussion was held on some language within the resolution. Weir moved, Pederson
seconded, to approve the resolution as amended to Recognize Chad M. Adams for his
service to the City of Medina.
Crosby then discussed the inclusion of the above mentioned resolution along with the
application nominating Adams for a League of Minnesota Cities leadership award.
Siitari moved, Weir seconded, the motion endorsing the support of the nomination of
Chad M. Adams for the C.C. Ludwig Leadership Award for appointed officials.

Weir moved, Siitari seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 9: 37 p.m.
