COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, NOVEMBER 16, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
The November 16, 2015, City Council “Pre-Meeting” was convened at 5:45 P.M.
by Mayor Carrie Tergin.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Branch, Costales, Graham, Henry, Hussey, Mihalevich,
Prather, Schreiber, Scrivner, and Ward
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Mayor Tergin asked if the Council would be willing to amend the agenda at
adoption to allow David Hofherr to make his presentation under i tem 7 (Invited
Guests) rather than item 16 (Presentations on Miscellaneous Topics) since it was
a school night and he was an elementary school student. No objections to the
amendment were voiced by Council.
Chestnut Street Closing: Discussion was held regarding whether a draft
Resolution pertaining to the Chestnut Street closing would be brought forward
tonight. Councilman Scrivner stated it had just been completed late in the
afternoon on November 16, and if the Council preferred to wait until the
December 8 meeting to act on it, he would accommodate their wishes. Mayor
Tergin asked if he would consider placing it on the November 19 Public Works &
Planning Committee agenda as a discussion item, to which Councilman Scrivner
stated he would be willing to do so. He would announce in the Regular Meeting
that he intended to leave Bill 2015-59 on the Informal Calendar.
Planning & Protective Services Director Janice McMillan asked if she could make
a staff announcement regarding the November 17 public forum on the solid
waste proposals and staff recommendations. Mayor Tergin will call on her at that
point in the meeting.
