HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-05-2009THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 5, 2009 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, March 5, 2009, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending was Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the February 26, 2009 meeting. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Robinson made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment for March 6, 2009 in the amount of $175,459.59. She explained of that total $33,514.80 was paid to the Wayne County Treasurer for the City's portion of the 9 -1 -1 salaries and benefits, $20,537.73 was paid to Morton Salt for road salt, $15,700.00 was paid to Toschlog Excavating for the demolition of 908 North "H" Street and $57,612.74 was paid as a pass through grant for the Housing Authority for the Demolition of Nicholson School. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. CONTRACTS A. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels for the approval of Contract No. 25 -2009 with Terrell Contractor to provide consulting services for the City. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. B. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels for the approval of Contract No. 29 -2009 with Vectren Corporation to provide Local Grant Match. She explained that at this time the Law Department would like to table Contract No. 29 -2009 with Vectren. Ms Vessels also stated that for the record, Vectren was going to supply additional terms and we are Board of Works Minutes March 5, 2009 Page 2 of 2 still waiting on those. We would like some additional time to make sure we have their input and clear the final draft with the Brownfield Program attorney. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned.
