A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SUBMIT A LOAN APPLICATION TO THE
CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION TO REPLACE EXISTING TRAFFIC
SIGNAL LIGHTING WITH LIGHT EMITTING DIODES (LED) AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the State's Energy Policy Act of 2005 is to promote
energy efficiency systems; and
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission provides loans to local
governments, schools, hospitals, special districts and public care institutions to
finance energy efficiency improvements; and
WHEREAS, replacement of the City's incandescent traffic signal
lighting system with a Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting system will reduce the
City's energy costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby, find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1: That City of Lynwood is authorized to apply for a loan to
the California Energy Commission for traffic signal LED lighting:
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
