For your information,an additional Special Tax Bill was issued on that same property after the above-referenced tax bill was sent to the County to be included in this year's tax sale. I am sending a copy of that tax bill should you wish to pay it before this year's annual delinquent tax bill turnover to the Cole County Collector's office(on September 15)which would be included on the 2009 property tax bill. If you prefer to allow it to be attached to the property tax bill,you may do so. but the interest will continue accruing until such time the 2009 tax bills are generated and distributed by the County. In discussing the process as it relates to the tax sale, we have concluded that beginning next year, we will provide a list of the City liens on the day of the sale that do not appear on our tax bills and will inform our buyers of those pending liens. However, because collection by separate check of these liens causes confusion to the taxpayer, we will no longer collect for these.
