HomeMy Public PortalAboutMoser, John & MargeryTHE IDAHO STATESMAN, B Portrait of a Distinguished Citizen. John and Margery Moser Many residents of the cascaae area literally owe their lives to John and Margery Moser. For the past 21 years, the husband and wife team has been the town's only doctors. Moser was born and raised in Altoona, Pa. His wife was born Margery Moor of Girard, Ohio. The two were married when he was graduated from Air Force pilot training. They entered the same medical school class at Case Western Reserve University at Cleveland, Ohio, and completed their medical training at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. The couple moved to Cascade in 1954 and has been there since. The lives they have saved in that mountain community are far too numerous to mention. Both have traveled countless miles making house calls day and night. Both have been active in community activites. Moser is a layman in the Episcopal Church, a member of the Cascade Zoning Commission since its inception, and was a member of the Cascade 3(:nUV1 DVi.IiY Ivi acvcyal WI Salo. as, o...• .... .••.. terms on the Governors Mental Health Advisory Council and is a director of the Idaho Lung Asso- ciation. He also is Democratic chairman of his legislative district and a member of the Sierra Club. Margery Moore is the church pianist, a member of the Valley County Welfare Advisory Council and the National Study of Local Schools. Dee Emerson, a nurse's aide who has worked with the Mosers for the last 13 years and has known them since they came to Cascade, de- scribes them as "great people." "They've served this community for many years and done so very graciously," she said. "They're about the only doctors around here. I don't see how the community could survive with- out them. They come day and night to the hospital and make house calls at all hours, too. They've just been great people for this area. There's no other word for it." < oa CA . <nrch0 , - =.-, n av:c1G h m -- woa c) ^ Nnno "••n-• E ?7c—gC=. cCD`< n<p,<=.rt.
