HomeMy Public PortalAboutNelson, MichelleTf n _S QL- e r✓s • .ya7/9.r Applications available for Nelson scholarship Applications are now available for the Michelle Nelson Memorial Scholarship, to be offered to a graduating McCall -Donnelly High School senior who wants to pur- sue a career in nursing or health care. The scholarship will be $500 paid to a college of the recipient's choice. Applicants should submit a resume, an essay on why they chose health care as a profession, and letters of reference from a health-care professional and from a community member. The scholarship is named in memory of Michelle Nelson, a 1994M-D graduate who was killed in a private plane crash near McCall in January. The scholarship is being funded with $1,000 earned during the 1997 McCall Winter Carnival by Roxanne Hill and Ellen Hibbs - McKinney, who built the snow sculpture "Angels Among Us." The sculpture won both First Prize and Viewer's Choice. Dale and Carolyn Bollar of McCall also made a donation to the fund, and donations may be made to the scholarship fund at Washington Federal Savings and Loan in McCall. Applications are available at the M-D Counseling Center and should be turned in no later than April 26.
