Applications available
for Nelson scholarship
Applications are now available
for the Michelle Nelson Memorial
Scholarship, to be offered to a
graduating McCall -Donnelly High
School senior who wants to pur-
sue a career in nursing or health
care.
The scholarship will be $500
paid to a college of the recipient's
choice. Applicants should submit
a resume, an essay on why they
chose health care as a profession,
and letters of reference from a
health-care professional and from
a community member.
The scholarship is named in
memory of Michelle Nelson, a
1994M-D graduate who was killed
in a private plane crash near
McCall in January.
The scholarship is being funded
with $1,000 earned during the 1997
McCall Winter Carnival by
Roxanne Hill and Ellen Hibbs -
McKinney, who built the snow
sculpture "Angels Among Us."
The sculpture won both First Prize
and Viewer's Choice.
Dale and Carolyn Bollar of
McCall also made a donation to
the fund, and donations may be
made to the scholarship fund at
Washington Federal Savings and
Loan in McCall.
Applications are available at the
M-D Counseling Center and
should be turned in no later than
April 26.
