Nongenarian Mae Osborn
Pioneer notes
anniversary
Ninety years have gone by
since 72-year Idaho resident
Mae Osborn and her no -
longer living twin sister were
born on August 12, 1:•:5 in
Marshall, Missouri and were
raised and educated there
before deciding to seek the
"adventure of the west" at 18.
Mae and her twin, the late
Maude Thornhill, first went to
Kellogg and then Mae on
down to this area. She had
finished teachers' college in
Marshall and completed
terms at Middle District in
Long Valley, Alpine below
Council and Round Valley
north of New Meadows before
meeting rancher Ed Osborn,
whom she married in 1907.
The couple spent their
entire half -century of
married life, until his death in
1957, at their Meadows Valley
ranch home, where three
children were born. She found
time as well to be a charter
member of the Women's Club
of Meadows Valley, a
Rebekah and a member of the
Meadows Goodwill Circle for
many years.
A cake and greeting cards
helped Mrs. Osborn note her
90th milestone Tuesday at the
Payette Lakes Care Center,
where she has resided for the
past nine years. Her only
surviving son, Warren
Osborn, and wife still live on
the family ranch and she also
has three grown grand-
children and two great-
grandaughters.
