A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE 2008 STREET CLOSURES SCHEDULE AND CREATING A
PROCEDURE FOR DEALING WITH UNFORESEEN STREET CLOSURE
REQUESTS
WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code Section 21101 (e) requires an
~ ordinance or resolution prior to temporarily closing a portion of a street for
celebrations, local special events, and other purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood wishes to create a systematic process for
dealing with street closures; and
WHEREAS, the costs associated with the street closure is included in the
Public Works Department budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council adopts the 2008 Street Closure
Schedule (Exhibit "A").
Section 2. Any and all future street closure requests must be submitted
in writing to the City's traffic/engineering staff for review and recommendation to
the City Council.
Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of March, 2008.
