HomeMy Public PortalAbout2008.039 (03-18-08)RESOLUTION NO. 2008.039 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SOCAL UNIFORM RENTAL IN THE AMOUNT OF $57,057 FOR ITS LOW BASE BID ONLY FOR INDUSTRIAL UNIFORM RENTAL AND PRODUCT SERVICES; EXCLUDING ANY AND ALL ADDITIVE BIDS; WAIVING THE INFORMALITIES OR IRREGULARITIES ON ARAMARK UNIFORM SERVICES BID AND G & K SERVICES BID; REJECTING BID SUBMITTED BY MISSION LINEN & UNIFORM SERVICES AS NON- RESPONSIVE WHEREAS, The City provides four (4) clean, pressed uniforms per employee per week to approximately 85 field employees; and WHEREAS, In compliance with the Lynwood Municipal Code, staff sent the industrial uniform rental and product services bid proposal to various vendors and advertised the bid proposal on January 31, 2008; and WHEREAS, The bid opening took place in the office of the City Clerk on February 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.; and WHEREAS, City staff has ascertained that SoCAL Uniform Rental is the apparent lowest responsible bidder at $219.45 per week. NOW THEREFORE, the Lynwood City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows: Section 1. That the contract for industrial uniform rental and product services be awarded to SoCAL Uniform Rental, as the lowest responsible bidder, ~ for its bid of $219.45 per week. The length of the contract is for five (5) years for a ~ total of $57,057. The effective date of the contract shall be April 1, 2008. Section 2. That the City Council waives the informalities or irregularities on the Aramark Uniform Services bid and G & K Services bid. Section 3. That the City Council rejects the bid submitted by Mission Linen & Uniform Services as non-responsive for not following procedures in the instruction to bidders. Section 4. That after waiving the informalities or irregularities the new rankings are as follows: Rank Company Name Bid 1. SOCAL UNIFORM RENTAL $219.45/week 2. ARAMARK UNIFORM SERVICES $339.65/week 3. G & K SERVICES $343.34/week Section 5. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement between the City of Lynwood and SoCAL Uniform Rental. Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
