Local Singer-Songwriter Todd Wright Receives
Five Wammie Nominations
Leesburg, VA (January 11, 2011) – Leesburg
singer-songwriter Todd Wright has been
nominated for five 2010 Washington Area Music
Association (WAMA) awards, or Wammies.
Established in 1985, the Wammies are the Mid-
Atlantic's highest musical honors and are
recognized nationally as major music trophies.
The 25th Annual Wammies will be presented on
February 20, 2011 at the historic State Theatre in
Falls Church, Virginia.
Todd Wright has been nominated for Songwriter
of the Year, Producer of the Year, Pop Vocalist of
the Year, Musician of the Year and the pinnacle
prize, Artist of the Year.
Todd's songs have been heard on TV shows such
as Bones, One Tree Hill and Private Practice. His four volume CD set, “40x40,” has received
national attention and stellar reviews. Locally, Todd is a fixture at Leesburg’s downtown
summer concert series, Acoustic on the Green, and is co-producer and musical director of
Jingle Jam, a highly successful annual Christmas concert for charity. Todd also has a recording

“Over the past year, Todd has worked really hard, writing 40 songs in 40 weeks while
producing and performing as the same time. No one is more deserving of this honor,”
commented Stilson Greene, founder of the Acoustic on the Green concert series and co-
producer of Jingle Jam. “Todd is a tremendously talented musician.”
Another Leesburg-based artist familiar to local audiences from both Acoustic on the Green
concerts and the Jingle Jam has received four Wammie nominations. Jon Carroll has been
nominated for Pop Vocalist of the Year, Pop Instrumentalist of the Year, Musician of the Year,
and Artist of the Year (going head-to-head with Todd for three of those awards). For more
