HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolutions-2011-17 (2)RESOLUTION NO. 2011-17 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ADDITION OF A LIQUOR PERMIT TO THE ALCOHOL PERMIT FOR KUM & GO STORE # 137 LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF TIFFIN, IOWA AT 101 VILLAGE DR. EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011. Whereas, House File 617 Signed by Governor on March 30, 2011, now allows Class E liquor control licenses to be issued for premises where gasoline is sold, such as convenience stores. The Bill eliminates the requirement that convenience stores that sell gasoline have a separate walled-off room for liquor sales becomes effective July 1, 2011. Sales are for off premise consumption. Whereas, KUM & GO STORE # 137, now carries an Alcohol Permit for Class C Beer, Class B Wine (Carryout Wine) and Sunday Sales. Kum & Go has now applied for application for the Class E Liquor Sales. -Whereas, the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa has reviewed and will determine the addition of a Liquor Permit to the current Alcohol License requested by the business establishment known as "Kum & Go Store #137" located within the city limits of Tiffin, Iowa. Whereas, the City Council has not discovered any reason to deny the addition of the Liquor Permit to the Alcohol Permit for "Kum & Go Store #137". City Council directs the City Clerk to submit for local authority, approval of permit to the State of Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. On the 11th day of May 2011, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa. UPh0e FIN: 'y' i I s, May r ' RESOLUTIORNO.-2011-16 s AWARD"CONTRACT FOR 2011 sANITARYp:SEWER REHABILITATION PROJECT t: WHEREAS: on The 9v' of March 2011, proposals were reviewed for bids for the 2011 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project located in the older part of the City of Tiffin, Iowa. WHEREAS, a Sanitary Sewer Inspection was conducted in 2008 by Hydro -View and upon review of findings by the City Engineer and the Public Works � department it was proposed.that the sanitary sewer in the older part of the city be repaired with a lining material to°help eliminate ,the entranceof storm water run-off into the sanitary sewer. WHEREAS, the plans for rehabilitation were sent to two firms specializing in this type of repairs and proposals,were,submitted to the'Public Works Department. Approximately 1920 lineal feet will be completed on Summerhays Stand north of Marengo, Rd. / US Hwy 6. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY the City Council. of Tiffin, Iowa to accept the lowest and most responsible bid from Visu-Sewer, Inc. of Pewaukee, Wisconsin at $29.50 per Lineal Foot and award the contract to begin.as soon as possible as weather permits,for`the 2011 Sanitary 4 { Sewer Rehabilitation project after notice of award, contract and to proceed have been duly executed by the Mayor. and"City Clerk. Contractor will provide Certificate of Insurance and will proceed with proposed Work within the guidelines set forth in the proposal packet. Failure to proceed as,scheduled will cause contract to be forfeited,and awarded to another contractor. THEREFORE, BE<IT.RESOLVED, the city Council of.
