HomeMy Public PortalAbout004-1982 - Amending Chapter 154 - Zoning - 1110, 1118 North J and 1001 North 11th StreetsGENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 4-1982 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1110, 1118 NORTH "J" STREET AND 1001 NORTH 11TH STREET FROM R-3 ONE -TO -EIGHT FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO C-2 COMMERCIAL DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 desig- nates and describes as R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District the property located at 1110 and 1118 North "J" Street and 1001 North llth Street; and, WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classi- fication of said property from R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District to C-2 Commercial District; and, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan Commission the 2nd day of February, 1982 at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordi- nance; and, WHEREAS, the vote of the Rict and City Plan Commission was six (6) to zero (0) in favor of recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 4-1982. NOW 'il]IItEh'ORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana as follows: SECTI0N 1. That the zoning classification of the property described below be, and the same is hereby changed to C-2 Commercial District, and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana and all amendments thereto. The following described real estate situated in the City of Richmond, Wayne County, State of Indiana, to wit: Lots 16, 15, 14, 13, 12 and 11 in the B. Fulghun's Addition SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. February 11, 1982 Mr. Kenneth Mills, President Members of Common Council & Mrs. JoEllen Trimble, City Clerk Municipal Building Richmond, Indiana 47374 Re: Ordinance No. 4-1982 Plan Commission Case PC-82-1 Dear Mr. Mills, Members of Common Council & Mrs. Trimble: The Richmond City Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, February 2, 1982, on its own petition to rezone property located at 1110 and 1118 North "J" Street and 1001 North llth Street from R-3 to C-2. Eight (8) notices of public hearing were sent to adjoining prop- erty owners with none returned. No one spoke in favor of or in opposition to the petition during the public hearing. The Plan Commission determined that the general character of the subject area has been changed since the adoption of the Master Plan from residential to commercial. The subject Ordinance is intended to replace Amended Ordinance No. 90-1981. Therefore, the Plan Commission voted six (6) to zero (0) to recommend that Ordinance No. 4-1982 be adopted.
