HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-24-2014THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 24, 2014 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 24, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the minutes for the April 17, 2014 meeting with a second by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve claims to be paid April 25, 2014 in the amount of One Hundred Seven Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Two Dollars and thirty one cents ($107,262.31), supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURES: Richmond Optimist League and Whitewater Valley Little League Opening Day Parade April 26, 2014 — 9 am Parkview School, to Peacock Road, then west to NW 13th Street Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Vintage Wheels Car Club Depot District Car Show June 14, 2014 - 9 am — 9 pm North "E" Street from Fort Wayne Avenue (8th — 10th Street) and Fort Wayne Avenue (North "E" to North "D" Street) Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • NO PARKING SIGNS Richmond Power and Light - Johnson Street Sub Station Mike Elstro of Richmond Power and Light requested No Parking signs be placed around the Johnson Street Substation so RP &L employees do not have problems accessing their facility. BID OPENINGS- None BID AWARDS • AGGREGATE AND BITUMINOUS MATERIALS —May 1, 2014— April 30, 2015 Bids were awarded as follows: Irving Materials, Inc., Cambridge City, IN Concrete, Concrete with fiber reinforcement, flowable fill Barrett Paving Stone U.S. Aggregates Gravel, Washed Gravel and Sand Milestone Cold Mix, Base & Surface Asphalt Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONFLIST OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE STATEMENT —JEREMY BLAKE Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 48 -2014 — JEREMY BLAKE - Fire Department Labor to install electrical wiring for the Richmond Fire Department, Station No. 3 Not to exceed $150.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS- None ADDENDUMS- None RESOLUTIONS- None PETITIONS - None MISCELLANEOUS- None ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
