HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 10/18/2005 The Wellsburg City Council met in special joint session with the Wellsburg Library Board October 18, 2005 with Mayor Fox presiding and all councilmen present. Attending from the Library
Board were Greg Riebkes, Jennifer Nazario, Sharon Harms, Pam Hook and Lillian Eiten. Dave Henning was also in attendance representing the Wellsburg Library Building Committee.
Motion by James second by Lindaman to approve a beer permit for Mike’s Supermarket. All ayes, carried.
The Library Board has hired a consultant using grant funds from the State of Iowa. They are in the process of gathering information for the consultant.
The tentative time table for the new library are as follows: Begin fund raising in the spring of 2006, complete grant application fall of 2006 and start construction spring of 2007.
Discussion of the current Ostfriesland Building foundation. The structural engineer will be consulted to see if new building can be constructed on the old foundation.
Library Board will continue to work with the consultant on design of the interior of the new library.
It was also decided that committees be set up to work on the different phases of the project. Some of the committees suggested were a finance committee, building committee and architect
committee.
Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to approve changing the November 7th council meeting to Tuesday, November 8 due to the possibility of an AGWSR football playoff game. All ayes,
carried.
Motion to adjourn Lindaman second James. All ayes, carried.
