SPECIAL MEETING
December 4, 2003
The Moab City Council held a Special Meeting on the above in the
Council Chambers of Moab City Offices, located at 115 West 200
South, Moab, Utah. Mayor David L. Sakrison called the Special City
Council Meeting to order at 5:00 PM. In attendance were
Councilmembers Gregg W. Stucki and Kirstin Peterson. Also present
were City Manager Donna Metzler, Planning and Community
Development Director David Olsen, City Recorder/Assistant City
Manager Rachel Ellison and Karena Gholson from the Grand County
Housing Authority.
The purpose of the Special Meeting was:
1) Community Development Block Grant Public (CDBG) Hearing;
2) Proclamation of December 5, 2003 as Arbor Day
Mayor Sakrison opened the public hearing at 5:01 PM.
Planning and Community Development Director Olsen stated that a
potential CDBG project had been a dwelling for the food bank, but that
Grand County was not interested in the project. Planning and
Community Development Director Olsen stated that the Grand County
Housing Authority was interested in new swamp coolers and new
windows for the Virginian apartments.
Karena Gholson from the Grand County Housing Authority stated that
the improvements would make the unit more energy efficient and would
especially help the disabled units. Ms. Gholson stated that there would
be approximately 182 windows replaced.
Planning and Community Development Director Olsen stated that the
City would administer the grant.
No public comment was given.
Mayor Sakrison closed the public hearing at 5:06 PM.
Mayor Sakrison proclaimed December 5, 2003 as Arbor Day and read an
Arbor Day proclamation.
Mayor Sakrison adjourned the Special Meeting at 5:07 PM.
