Summit Dr. #73, Holts Summit, MO 65043. • MEMORANDUM TO: City Council FROM: Debbie Cheshire, City Clerk DATE: August 17, 1992 RE: Special Tax Bill 14602 - Abatement Request • Ms. Carla Jean Hurst, appeared before myself and Charles Lansford to plead her case against paying $120.00 Special Tax Bill for cleaning up trash and weeds at 1102 E. High St. Ms. Hurst is physically handicapped and her teenage son, who usually mowed the lawn, was sent to juvenile camp. She was unable to maintain the property. She is not opposed to paying for the mowing of the lawn and removal of trash. However, the City crew removed a doghouse and a clothesline in poor repair, which she planned to move or repair. Ms. Hurst owned this property for over 20 years and stated she never had this trouble before. She recently vacated the house and sold it. While vacant, it apparently was vandalized, the doghouse destroyed and the clothesline pulled from the ground. As a compromise, she agreed to pay the $65.00 for cleaning up weeds if the City agreed to waive the $55.00 administrative costs.
