INITIATING AMENDMENTS OF THE LEESBURG ZONING ORDINANCE
REGARDING MULTI-FAMILY DWELLINGS
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that additional regulations are
necessary to ensure the proper development of multi-family dwellings within
the Town of Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that multi-family dwellings should be
allowed within the B-2 district only after the granting of a special exception;
and
WHEREAS, the establishment of special standards for multi-family dwellings
within the B-2 and R-4 districts is necessary to promote public safety and wel-
fare; to facilitate the creation of a convenient, attractive and harmonious
community; and to protect property values:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. Amendments to sections 6-1-1, 6-2.1-2, 8-2-11-10, 8-2-11-11,
8-2-11-12, and 4A-3, and the establishment of new sections 8-1-3 and 8-2-11-11A,
are hereby initiated as set out in the attached "Proposed Amendments to Zoning
Ordinance, RE: Multi-Family Dwellings".
SECTION II. The Planning Commission shall conduct a public hearing as soon
as permitted by law and shall report its recommendations on the proposed ordinance
amendments to the Town Council within 60 days of its public hearing.
