PROCLAMATION
Whereas Over the weekend of September 9-10, 2018, four firefighters from the Riverdale
Fire Department squared off in a state-wide competition between firefighters
from across Iowa as part of the Iowa Firefighters'Association's annual
conference; and
Whereas Despite the odds and conditions (including rain and mud turning the 40-acre site
into a boggy swamp),the team from Riverdale persevered; and
Whereas The "Water Warriors"bested the field to take first place in the Water Application
Drill competition; and
Whereas Their victory in this competition propelled Riverdale into a tie for fifth overall
among all of the departments participating in the IFA's conference; then
Therefore be it resolved that I, Michael Bawden, Mayor of the City of Riverdale, do this day
congratulate Riverdale Firefighters:
Bruce Bowers
Randy Bowers
Phillip Bowers and
Adrian Castillo
for their hard work, dedication, teamwork and leadership example set by winning
their state championship and making their City proud.
