THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT

The Boaxd of. Trustees of the District met in the Board Room,. 506
Olive Street, at 2:00 P.M. on April 12th, 195^.. Trustees present: William
C. E. Becker, John M. Bogdanor, Joseph L. Doran, William W. tfertin, J.. E..
Williams, Jr. and George C. Willson. Also present, by invitation of the Board:
Mr. Robert EEooks.

The meeting was called to order by Mr. George Willson, Temporary
Chairman.
Mr. Robert Brooks discussed with the Boaxd the matter of problems
of organization, and offered suggestions as to the type of individual most
desirable for the position of Executive Director. In response to a question,
he expressed the opinion that the Boaxd should seek engineering advice on the
question of standards, design, construction and maintenance of sewers.
The Board interviewed Mr. Ernest Paffrath and Mr. La^rrence Feagan,
whose names had been suggested for the position of Executive Director.
After a general discussion by the Trustees, it was agreed to meet
at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April I6, at the Board Room of the FederaJ. Land Bank.
It was further agreed that representative engineers and officials
of the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County be invited to discuss such
probleras.
Mr. Carl Trauernicht, who had previously written Mr. Willson, at
his request, on the matter of approval of taix anticipation warrants, was
also asked to attend the next meeting and discuss financing probleras with
the Board.

Mr. Becker reported that Mr. Shifrin of Horner & Shifrin, and
Mr. Russell of Russell & Axon, who had been requested to assist in preparing
estimates for the budget, had held a meeting attended by various engineers
employed by the City and County commimities, for the purpose of determining
the type of budget to be recommended.
The meeting adjourned at 5:00 P.M. -^
