“The Nature of Virginia: Images of Loudoun” Photography
Exhibit Now On Display in Leesburg Town Hall
Leesburg, VA (February 14, 2011) – A
new exhibit featuring the art of
photographer Gary Mester is now on
display in the Leesburg Town Exhibit
Hall, located on the first floor of the
Town Hall. The photographs will be on
display until April 30, 2011.
The show, which includes 30
photographs taken in Leesburg and
surrounding areas, represents ten years
of local history, captured by the camera
and now preserved and shared. Subjects
include landscapes, nature studies,
events, and “just really nice moments.”
“I’ve tried to capture the changing
scenes, because the things that make
Leesburg special, like the parades and
events, are also very fragile,” Gary
explains. “While we are surrounded by
history, it is the people that make this
area what it is today. I hope the photos
in the exhibit show how special these
events are to the community.”
Mr. Mester considers himself to be a
“nature photographer.” As an avid shooter, he has seen the transition of northern Virginia form
rural to an urban landscape. His photography has been featured in shows at the Thomas Balch
Library, City of Falls Church City Hall, Meadowlark Photo Exhibit, Falls Church ArtSpace, BB&T,
the Freedom Museum at the Manassas Airport and Goodwin House. Mr. Mester's work has
appeared in the Falls Church News Press, Virginia Parks & Recreation Magazine and other local

outlets. Through his photography, he supports the Tinner Hill Foundation, Relay for Life,
Westie Rescue and other local charities.
All of the photographs in the Leesburg exhibit are for sale.
