PRESENT: Chairman James West, Member Dee Johnson, Member John Lott, and City Office Assistant Rylea Farrens. ABSENT: Member Gary Elliott and Member Ray Hart. VISITORS: Kurt Roland, Curtis Johnson, Bill and Kathy Koester. Chairman West welcomed everyone and led with the Pledge of Allegiance. Approval of Minutes: Member Lott moved to approve the minutes for January 13th, 2021. Member Johnson seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion carried. Items of Business: Public Comment Chairman West opened the meeting up for public comment. No one came forward . Variance Application -Sunrise Acres Chairman West summarized the variance , and called Kurt Roland to the podium. He explained that they want to place a temporary cul-de-sac at the end of the road abutting Mr. Rockwood's property. They are stubbing the road to the canal, so that they can connect the road through, once the Rockwood property is developed. Currently the road is between 550 and 600 feet in length. The developer has received a notarized document from Mr. Rockwood giving permission for a large easement on his property, and to indicate future development on his land. Chairman West noted that the City Council tabled the final plat and suggested the variance to the developer. If there was a cul-de-sac it wouldn't lend to the Rockwood property being developed, even though the water and sewer go through the Rockwood property to meet this development. Member Johnson motioned to recommend approval to the City Council. Member Lott seconded. All in favor, motion carried. Acknowledgement of Service Chairman West thanked Member Dee Johnson and Member John Lott for their service to our City. He welcomed Bill Koester, who introduced himself as a self-employed contractor . Chairman West thanked him for his willingness to serve. Chairman West moved to adjourn. Member Lott seconded.
