Time and Place of Opening Bids. Proposals for the construction of the Vintage Harvest Force Main Replacement for the Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois, will be received through QuestCDN.com by VirtuBid (vBid) online bid service until 10:00 A.M. CST, February 1, 2021, and at that time a virtual bid opening will be held. The Owner will only accept electronic bids through QuestCDN and bids will not be accepted after the bid date and opening time. 2. Description of Work. The proposed construction consists of approximately 900 lineal feet of 8-inch I.D. force main installed by horizontal directional drilling within and existing 15-foot wide easement, manhole connection, connection to force main stub, lawn restoration, and other miscellaneous items of work. 3. Information for Bidders. All pertinent documents may be examined on the internet at www.questcdn.com. Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing work under this contract. The Village of Plainfield is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Village of Plainfield for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder Instructions. 4. Rejection of Bids. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities.
