Ida Lee Tennis Team Wins Chestnut Forks Mixed Doubles
Challenge Cup
Leesburg, VA (March 4, 2011) – Team Ida Lee, the
mixed doubles tennis team sponsored by the Town of
Leesburg’s Parks & Recreation Department, won the
2011 Mixed Doubles Challenge Cup hosted by
Chestnut Forks Athletic Club in Warrenton, Virginia,
on February 25-27, 2011.
The three-day event featured the top players and pros
from Middleburg Tennis Club, Ida Lee Tennis Center
and Chestnut Forks Athletic Club. According to Ida
Lee Head Tennis Professional Moses Gittens, the level
of play during the Challenge Cup was amazing, and
every match was a battle. Team Ida Lee won a record
fourteen matches in a row and clinched the championship with a 14-2 victory. This is the
second year in a row Ida Lee has won the Challenge Cup.
Members of the Ida Lee Team included Captain Moses Gittens, Jen Beamish, Vinnie Khera, Lju
Pavlov, Matt Stillwagon, Vicki Bresnahan, Don Barker, Brooke Brown, Rod Young, Dina
Holstead, Nico Botha, Liz Sweet, Korey Suk, Kitty Foster, Vijay and Zan Shah, Babe McGuire,
Lloyd Jacobs, Terry Crowley, Lance Rice and Noe Vasquez.
