AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECRITY
WHEREAS, The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has through the Indiana
Department of Homeland Security grant funding available under a program
entitled 2006 Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program;
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, through the Richmond Fire Department, desires to
submit a grant application to pay for hazardous materials supplies and
equipment ("Hazmat equipment"); and
WHEREAS, No local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Fire Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to pay for Hazmat equipment
for the Richmond Fire Department.
2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Ten Thousand Five Hundred Sixty-seven Dollars and Zero
Cents ($10,567.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to pay for
Hazmat equipment for the Richmond Fire Department.
Passed and adopted this _20th _ day of _April , 2009 by the Common
Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
