AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GREENCASTLE PLANNING AND ZONING
ORDINANCE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
(PETITION OF MCCLURE OIL CORPORATION)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of Greencastle,
having received a Petition for Rezoning from McClure Oi.I
Corporation, has initiated and prepared this ordinance to amend
the Greencastle Planning and Zoning Ordinance by amending the
zoning map;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported that
it held a public hearing concerning this ordinance on March 12,
1990, after timely notice of the hearing was given by publication
in the Banner - Graphic Greencastle, Indiana on March 2, 1990;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported that
it paid reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in IC 36 -7 -4-
603 in consideration of the ordinance and determination of a
recommendation to made to the Common Council;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has certified this

ordinance to the Common Council with a recommendation by a
majority vote in favor of adoption;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has considered the
recommendation of the Greencastle Plan Commission and has pa .id
reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in IC- 36 -7 -4 -603
before acting on this ordinance;
WHEREAS, the Common council has determined that this
ordinance should be adopted without amendment as certified by the
Greencastle Plan Commission. Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA:
SECTION 1. REZONING
That the City of Greencastle Zoning Map, Section B06 -5 (b)
of the City of Greencastle Code, is hereby amended by changing
the zoning classification for the following described real estate
from RA-- Rural - Agricultural and 1 -1- -Light Industrial to C -3 --
General Business Districts:
A part of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4
West, Putnam County, State of Indiana, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Bloomington Road which
S is North 24 degrees and 40 minutes West, 12 chains
and 97 -3/4 links from a point in the center of
said road and on the south line of Section 21;
thence South 58 degrees west 5 chains and 93 links
to the southwest corner of a stock pen of the
Terre Haute and Indianapolis Railway Company;
thence South 24 degrees 40 minutes east parallel
to the Bloomington Road 4 chains and 11 links;
thence eastwardly to a point in the center of said
Bloomington Road which point is North 24 degrees
and 40 minutes west 7 chains and 82 -3/4 links from
a point in the center of said road and on the
south line of Section 21; thence with the center
of said road 5 chains and 15 links to the
beginning; EXCEPT a lot on the Southeast corner of
the above described tract which is 69 feet wide,
fronting on the Bloomington Road, and extending
back of uniform width a distance of 207 -1/2 feet.
This ordinance takes effect upon passage
The Clerk- Treasurer of the City of Greencastle is ordered to
have this ordinance published by inserting a copy of the
ordinance in each of the two (2) sets of the City of Greencastle
Code maintained on file for public inspection in the office of
the Clerk- Treasurer.

• SYNOPSIS
This ordinance amends the Greencastle zoning Map, Section
806 -5(b) of the City of Greencastle Code, to rezone approximately
2.4 acres owned by the McClure Oil Corporation at 1148 south
Bloomington Street to C- 3-- General Business District.
