AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants through the
Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to fund various transportation
infrastructure projects in Indiana;
WHEREAS, The Public Transit Section, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), has been
designated to grant federal stimulus funds for public transportation projects which
include purchasing transit vehicles, building and renovating transit facilities, and
purchasing communication equipment;
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available;
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, by and through Rose View Transit, desires to submit a grant
application to assist with transportation infrastructure project costs; and
WHEREAS, There is no local match required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond, by and through Rose View Transit, is hereby authorized to submit a
grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation to assist with transportation
infrastructure projects, including expenditures for the following:
- One (1) small transit bus with wheelchair accessibility;
- Two (2) medium transit buses with wheelchair accessibility;
- One (1) large transit bus with wheelchair accessibility;
- Twenty (20) bus stop shelters;
- Fifteen (15) bus stop benches with pads;
- One (1) building security system;
- Four (4) bike racks;
- Six (6) manual passenger counters;
- Six (6) seating transfer cutters;
- One (1) DVD player and one (1) television;
- One (1) cart;
- Three (3) desks;
- One (1) network printer and switch;
- Three (3) computer workstations;
- One (1) telephone system;
- One (1) AC recharging station;
- One (1) backup generator;
- Renovation of existing storage facility; and
- Construction of new office building at the South Q complex.
2. The City of Richmond, by and through Rose View Transit, is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount up to One Million One Hundred Sixty-four Thousand One
Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,164,100.00).
3. Rose View Transit is authorized to furnish such additional information as INDOT may
require in connection with the application.
