RESOLUTION NO. 2020-099 ADOPTED: September 22, 2020
A RESOLUTION: ILLUMINATION OF TOWN PARKING GARAGE IN
RECOGNITION OF CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS
WHEREAS, the month of September is nationally recognized as Childhood Cancer
Awareness Month; and
WHEREAS, Team Mathias, is a local non-profit that raises funding and awareness to
support children and their families as they fight childhood cancer, as well as encourages more
research and development for a cure; and
WHEREAS, Team Mathias supports the American Childhood Cancer Organization
GO GOLD campaign by tying gold bows on the parking meters throughout Downtown
Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, to help raise additional awareness for the cause, Team Mathias supports
the illumination of the Town Parking Garage.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
1. The Town Parking Garage will be illuminated in recognition of Childhood Cancer
Awareness Month Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, 2020.
