HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 66-6231 City: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -623 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Temple 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Temple City to call a special election to be held in certain in- habited'territory contiguous to said City, proposed to be annexed thereto, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether or not said territory shall be annexed to the City of Temple City. Said territory is described as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. 2. That said territory hereby is designated and identified as "Annexation No. 12." 3. Notice hereby is given that on the 7th day of July, 1966 at the hour of 7 :30 P. M., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of, the City of Temple City, any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before said City Council and show cause why such territory should not be annexed. Such protest must be in writing and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property effected by such annexation and the location and area of such property in general terms. If it be found that protest is not made by public and private owners equal to one -half of the value of the territory further proceedings shall be taken in accordance with the law for the holding of such special election. 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and cause the same to be published in the Temple City Times once a week for the two weeks prior to the hearing. ADOPTED this 21st day of June, 1966. INHABITED" TO THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY That parcel of land in the County of Los Angeles, State of California included within the following described boundary: Beginning at the intersection of the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 8, Tract 3707 as shown tin- map re- corded in Book 40, page 51 of Maps in the otfice of the County Record- er of said County with the center line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company right of way (60 feet wide) (abandoned) as descrih;:zi Book 88, page 192 of Deeds in the office of said Recorder, s!!d intersec- tion being a point in the westerly boundary of the City cf Arcadia as the same existed on July 1, 1965; thence westerly along Fold center line to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of that por- tion of the Land of A. B. Chapman in Rancho Santa Anita as per Case No. 4780 of the District Court of the 17th Judicial District cf the State of California in and for the County of Los Angeles described in deed to Louis W. and Eleanor V. Paulsen recorded as Document No. 1596 on September 2, 1960, in Book D965, page 221 of Official Records in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along said last mention- ed prolongation, said westerly line and the southerly prolongation of said westerly line to the center line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's Right of Way (40 feet wide) (abandoned) as shown on map of Tract No. 4850 recorded in Book 52, pages 11 and 12 of said Maps; thence northerly alone the easterly line of Temple City Boulevard (formerly Sunset Boulevard) (60 feet wide) as shown on said last mentioned map to a point in said last mentioned easterly line distant northerly thereon 10.23 feet from the northwesterly corner of Lot 3, said Black B, said last men- tioned point being an angle point in the boundary of said City of Arcadia; thence westerly along said last mentioned boundary and follow- ing the same in all its various courses to the point of beginning. 902
